Because with lies ye have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, and be saved alive:

Amplified® Bible
Because with lies you have made the righteous sad {and} disheartened, whom I have not made sad {or} disheartened, and because you have encouraged {and} strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way and be saved [in that you falsely promised him life],

Contemporary English Version
They do things I would never do. They lie to good people and encourage them to do wrong, and they convince the wicked to keep sinning and ruin their lives.

Darby English Version
Because with falsehood ye have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad; and have strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, to save his life:

"By your lies you discourage good people, whom I do not wish to hurt. You prevent evil people from giving up evil and saving their lives.
