American Standard Version
And I beheld, and, lo, there were sinews upon them, and flesh came up, and skin covered them above; but there was no breath in them.

Amplified® Bible
And I looked and behold, there were sinews upon [the bones] and flesh came upon them and skin covered them over, but there was no breath {or} spirit in them.

Contemporary English Version
I saw muscles and skin cover the bones, but they had no life in them.

Darby English Version
And I looked, and behold, sinews and flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.

Good News Bible
While I watched, the bones were covered with sinews and muscles, and then with skin. But there was no breath in the bodies.
