American Standard Version
Then he brought me back by the way of the outer gate of the sanctuary, which looketh toward the east; and it was shut.

Amplified® Bible
THEN {the man} [an angel] brought me back the way of the outer gate of the sanctuary which faces the east, and it was shut.

Contemporary English Version
The man took me back to the outer courtyard, near the east gate of the temple area. I saw that the doors to this gate were closed.

Darby English Version
And he brought me back toward the outer gate of the sanctuary which looked toward the east; and it was shut.

Good News Bible
The man led me to the outer gate at the east side of the Temple area. The gate was closed,
