And the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former; and he shall come on at the end of the times, `even of' years, with a great army and with much substance.

Amplified® Bible
For the king of the North shall raise a multitude greater than [he had] before, and after some years shall certainly return, coming with a great army and much substance {and} equipment.

Contemporary English Version
because the king of the north will gather a larger and more powerful army than ever before. Then in a few years, he will start invading other countries.

Darby English Version
For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former; and shall certainly come at the end of the times of years with a great army and with much substance.

"The king of Syria will go back and gather a larger army than he had before. When the proper time comes, he will return with a large, well-equipped army.
