American Standard Version
And the sword shall fall upon their cities, and shall consume their bars, and devour `them', because of their own counsels.

Amplified® Bible
And the sword shall rage against {and} fall upon their cities and shall consume the bars of their gates and shall make an end [of their defenses], because of their own counsels {and} devices.

Contemporary English Version
War will visit their cities, and their plans will fail.

Darby English Version
and the sword shall turn about in his cities, and shall consume his bars, and devour [them], because of their own counsels.

War will sweep through their cities and break down the city gates. It will destroy my people because they do what they themselves think best.

And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels.
