Woe to Evildoers
And1 work out evil on their beds!
At amorning light they practice it,
Because it is in the power of their hand.
Also houses, and seize them.
So they oppress a man and his house,
A man and his inheritance.
“Behold, against this afamily I am devising bdisaster,
From which you cannot remove your necks;
Nor shall you walk haughtily,
For this is an evil time.
And alament with a bitter lamentation, saying:
‘We are utterly destroyed!
He has changed the1 heritage of my people;
How He has removed it from me!
To1 a turncoat He has divided our fields.’ ”
Lying Prophets
So they shall not prophesy1 to you;
1They shall not return insult for insult.
“Is the Spirit of the Lord restricted?
Are these His doings?
Do not My words do good
To him who walks uprightly?

Micah 2:3
Against this family (the Israelites) do I devise an evil - You have devised the evil of plundering the upright; I will devise the evil to you of punishment for your conduct; you shall have your necks brought under the yoke of servitude. Tiglath-pileser ruined this kingdom, and transported the people to Assyria, under the reign of Hezekiah, king of Judah; and Micah lived to see this catastrophe. See on Micah 2:9 (note).
