God Will Forgive Israel
The flock of Your heritage,
Who dwell1 solitarily in a awoodland,
In the midst of Carmel;
Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead,
As in days of old.
bThey shall put their hand over their mouth;
Their ears shall be deaf.
bThey shall crawl from their holes like1 snakes of the earth.
cThey shall be afraid of the Lord our God,
And shall fear because of You.
bPardoning iniquity
And passing over the transgression of cthe remnant of His heritage?
dHe does not retain His anger forever,
Because He delights in emercy.
And will subdue our iniquities.
You will cast all1 our sins
Into the depths of the sea.

Micah 7:16
The nations shall see and be confounded - Whether the words in these verses (Micah 7:15-17) be applied to the return from the Babylonish captivity, or to the prosperity of the Jews under the Maccabees, they may be understood as ultimately applicable to the final restoration of this people, and their lasting prosperity under the Gospel.
