that thou be not seen of men to fast, but of thy Father who is in secret: and thy Father, who seeth in secret, shall recompense thee.

Amplified® Bible
So that your fasting may not be noticed by men but by your Father, Who sees in secret; and your Father, Who sees in secret, will reward you {in the open.}

Then others won't know that you are going without eating. But your Father sees what is done in private, and he will reward you.
