Exodus 28:43

41 So you shall put them on Aaron your brother and on his sons with him. You shall ^aanoint them, ^bconsecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister to Me as priests.

42 And you shall make ^afor them linen trousers to cover their¹ nakedness; they shall reach from the waist to the thighs.

43 They shall be on Aaron and on his sons when they come into the tabernacle of meeting, or when they come near ^athe altar to minister in the holy place, that they ^bdo not incur iniquity and die. ^cIt shall be a statute forever to him and his descendants after him.

Exodus

EXODUS, a "going forth," derives its name from its being occupied principally with a relation of the departure of the Israelites from Egypt, and the incidents that immediately preceded as well as followed that memorable migration. Its authorship by Moses is distinctly asserted by himself (Exodus 24:4), as well as by our Lord (Mark 12:26; Luke 20:37). Besides, the thorough knowledge it exhibits of the institutions and usages of the ancient Egyptians and the minute geographical details of the journey to Sinai, establish in the clearest manner the authenticity of this book.
