7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them.

8 But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some ^aa hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

9 ^aHe who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”

11 He answered and said to them, “Because ^ait has been given to you to know the¹ mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

12 ^aFor whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

Who hath ears to hear, etc. - Let every person who feels the necessity of being instructed in the things which concern his soul' s welfare pay attention to what is spoken, and he shall become wise unto salvation.
