Robertson's Word Pictures (NT)
For a penny a day (ek dhnariou thn hmeran). See on Matthew 18:28. "Penny" is not adequate, "shilling" Moffatt has it. The ek with the ablative represents the agreement (sunfwnhsav) with the workmen (ergatwn). "The day" the Greek has it, an accusative of extent of time.
Other Robertson's Word Pictures (NT) entries containing Matthew 20:2:
John 6:7
Revelation 6:6
