22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; abut for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.  
23 a“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it.  
24 For afalse christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, bif possible, even the elect.  
25 See, I have told you beforehand.
26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it.
27 aFor as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

So do not let yourself be deceived by false gospels, false prophets, or even horrific disasters that some call signs. This is one reason why we have to watch and pray always. We have to get a hold of ourselves and say, Look, what that guy is saying seems plausible, but on this point, it does not match the truth. Trust the truth. Deceivers and deception will ramp up in the last days. Paul tells us in II Timothy 3:13, "evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived."

Matthew 24:23-26

Christ's warning to you and me is that imposters are going to arise. They will come. Now who is not going to be deceived? It is going to be those who have the best grasp of Christ. It is those whose grasp of Jesus Christ is not limited like other people's are. Those who see the most of Him, they will know that this is not of Him.
