6 And aHe marveled because of their unbelief. bThen He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching.

7 aAnd He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out btwo by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits.  
8 He commanded them to take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bag, no bread, no copper in their money belts—
9 but ato wear sandals, and not to put on two tunics.

Mark 6:7

By two and two - That they might encourage and support each other; and to show that union among the ministers of the Gospel is essential to the promotion of the cause of truth. See on Luke 10:1 (note).
