Needle's eye (trumaliav rafidov). See on Matthew 19:24 for discussion. Luke uses the surgical needle, belonhv. Matthew has the word rafiv like Mark from raptw, to sew, and it appears in the papyri. Both Matthew and Luke employ trhmatov for eye, a perforation or hole from titraw, to bore. Mark's word trumaliav is from truw, to wear away, to perforate. In the LXX and Plutarch.
