Luke 2:9 The angel of the Lord. An angel announces the conception of Jesus (Luke 1:28-37); a host of angels publish his birth (Luke 2:13); in his temptation an angel strengthens him (Mark 1:13); in his agony an angel comforts him (Luke 22:43); at his resurrection an angel rolls away the stone from the door of the sepulcher (Matthew 28:2); at his ascension the angels attend him up to heaven (Acts 1:10); and at his second coming to judge the world he shall be "revealed from heaven with his mighty angels" (II Thessalonians 1:7).
