Robertson's Word Pictures (NT)
Said to one another (elaloun prov allhlouv). Imperfect tense, inchoative, "began to speak," each to the other. It suggests also repetition, they kept saying,
Now (dh). A particle of urgency.
This thing (to rhma touto). A Hebraistic and vernacular use of rhma (something said) as something done. See on Luke 1:65. The ancient Greek used logov in this same way.
