American Standard Version
And fear took hold on all: and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet is arisen among us: and, God hath visited his people.

Amplified® Bible
Profound {and} reverent fear seized them all, and they began to recognize God {and} praise {and} give thanks, saying, A great Prophet has appeared among us! And God has visited His people [in order to help and care for and provide for them]!

Contemporary English Version
Everyone was frightened and praised God. They said, "A great prophet is here with us! God has come to his people."

Darby English Version
And fear seized on all, and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet has been raised up amongst us; and God has visited his people.

Good News Bible
They all were filled with fear and praised God. "A great prophet has appeared among us!" they said; "God has come to save his people!"

International Standard Version
Fear gripped everyone, and they began to praise God, saying, "A great prophet has appeared among us," and "God has helped his people."
