Luke 7:25
Gorgeously apparelled (en imatismw endocw). In splendid clothing. Here alone in this sense in the N.T.
And live delicately (trufh). From qruptw to break down, to enervate, an old word for luxurious living. See the verb trufaw in James 5:5.
In kings' courts (en toiv basileioiv). Only here in the N.T. Matthew 11:8 has it "in kings' houses." Verses Luke 7:26-27 are precisely alike in Matthew 11:9-10, which see for discussion.
Other Robertson's Word Pictures (NT) entries containing Luke 7:25:
Ephesians 5:27
James 5:5
