And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles have lordship over them; and they that have authority over them are called Benefactors.

Amplified® Bible
But Jesus said to them, The kings of the Gentiles are deified by them {and} exercise lordship [ruling as emperor-gods] over them; and those in authority over them are called benefactors {and} well-doers.

Contemporary English Version
So Jesus told them: Foreign kings order their people around, and powerful rulers call themselves everyone's friends.

And he said to them, The kings of the nations rule over them, and they that exercise authority over them are called benefactors.
