Robertson's Word Pictures (NT)
The Lord turned (strafeiv o kuriov). Second aorist passive participle of strefw, coming verb. Graphic picture drawn by Luke alone.
Looked upon Peter (enebleyen tw Petrw). Ingressive aorist active indicative of enblepw, an old and vivid verb, to glance at.
Remembered (upemnhsqh). First aorist passive indicative of upomimnhskw, common verb to remind one of something (upo giving a suggestion or hint). The cock crowing and the look brought swiftly back to Peter's mind the prophecy of Jesus and his sad denials. The mystery is how he had forgotten that warning.
