Robertson's Word Pictures (NT)
As idle talk (wv lhrov). Old word for nonsense, only here in the N.T. Medical writers used it for the wild talk of those in delirium or hysteria.
Disbelieved (ˆpistoun). Imperfect active of apistew, old verb from apistov, without confidence or faith in. They kept on distrusting the story of the women.
