People's Commentary (NT)
John 1:13 Who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh. The Jews prided themselves on being Abraham's children, and trusted in their blood for salvation. To be a son of God is not a fleshly birth at all, but the spirit of the subject is "born of God". The Savior explains the birth more particularly, in John 3:1-8.
