And lo, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing unto him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is the Christ?

And here He is speaking openly, and they say nothing to Him! Can it be possible that the rulers have discovered {and} know that this is truly the Christ?

Yet here he is, speaking for everyone to hear. And no one is arguing with him. Do you suppose the authorities know that he is the Messiah?
