Excerpted from: The Radiance of God's GloryNow please turn over to John 8, verse 42. As the conflict grew nearer, Jesus says it shows the difference between what He had seen with His Father and what they had heard from theirs. And when they protested, He declared that God was His Father and that the Devil was their father.
Jesus told the Jews that because they were children of their father, they did not know what truth was. They lived in a world of lies and distortion and falsehood. In a sense, truth was a foreign language to them; their native language was lies.

Excerpted from: Truth (Part 2)They were very definitely unconverted. They were not responding to the truth. They did not believe Him. He said,
Is that not similar to what Jesus said to Pilate? The person who is of the truth hears His voice, and of course the implication is response. He who is of God—that is, the converted person—hears God's words.
