24 a“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; bfor You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

John 17:21

That they also may be in us (ina kai autoi en hmin wsin). Another purpose clause with ina and the present active subjunctive of eimi. The only possible way to have unity among believers is for all of them to find unity first with God in Christ.

That the world may believe (ina o kosmov pisteuh). Another purpose clause with ina and the present active subjunctive of pisteuw, "may keep on believing." Beyond a doubt, strife, wrangling, division are a stumblingblock to the outside world.
