Acts 2:44-47
Excerpted from: The Two Wave Loaves of PentecostIn Acts 2:41, 3,000 people took the first step toward becoming one with God. In Acts 2:44-47, members of the young church freely gave to those in need, just like in the gleaning law we saw. They continued daily with one accord, breaking bread from house to house, eating with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God. This extraordinary example shows what is possible when our High Priest works to make imperfect labors with evident differences bear good fruit. But it necessitates that Christ abundantly supply His own labors, for without Him, our spiritual efforts achieve nothing (John 15:5).
Acts 2:44-47
Excerpted from: 'I Will Pour Out My Spirit!'Regarding the gathering of all things in common and their possessions together, there was a need. The other churches were struggling, especially one specifically, I cannot remember the name of the one specifically, but they needed food and they were desperate and so there was a collection taken for that type of thing. So this is according to need; it does not mean that you have to do it if there is no need. So we have to use wisdom in these things.
