Acts 7:34

I have surely seen (idwn eidon). Imitation of the Hebrew infinitive absolute, (Exodus 3:7) "Seeing I saw" (cf. Hebrews 6:14).

The affliction (thn kakwsin). From kakow, to treat evilly (from kakov, evil). Old word, here only in the N.T. and from Exodus 3:7.

Groaning (stenagmou). Old word from stenazw, to sigh, to groan. In the N.T. only here and Romans 8:26. Root sten in our word stentorian.

I am come down (katebhn). Second aorist active indicative of katabainw, I came down.

To deliver (ecelesqai). Second aorist middle infinitive of ecairew, to take out for myself.

I will send (aposteilw). First aorist active subjunctive (hortatory of apostellw, "Let me send").
