American Standard Version
And though they found no cause of death `in him', yet asked they of Pilate that he should be slain.

Amplified® Bible
And although they could find no cause deserving death with which to charge Him, yet they asked Pilate to have Him executed {and} put out of the way.

Contemporary English Version
They did exactly what the Scriptures said they would. Even though they couldn't find any reason to put Jesus to death, they still asked Pilate to have him killed. After Jesus had been put to death, he was taken down from the cross and placed in a tomb.

Darby English Version
And having found no cause of death [in him], they begged of Pilate that he might be slain.

Good News Bible
And even though they could find no reason to pass the death sentence on him, they asked Pilate to have him put to death.

International Standard Version
Although they found no reason to sentence him to death, they asked Pilate to have him executed.

King James Version
And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
