Leviticus 2:8

6 You shall break it in pieces and pour oil on it; it is a grain offering.

7 ‘If your offering is a grain offering baked in a ^acovered pan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.

8 You shall bring the grain offering that is made of these things to the Lord. And when it is presented to the priest, he shall bring it to the altar.

9 Then the priest shall take from the grain offering ^aa memorial portion, and burn it on the altar. It is an ^boffering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord.

10 And ^awhat is left of the grain offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’. It is most holy of the offerings to the Lord made by fire.

LEVITICUS. So called from its treating of the laws relating to the ritual, the services, and sacrifices of the Jewish religion, the superintendence of which was entrusted to the Levitical priesthood. It is chiefly, however, the duties of the priests, "the sons of Aaron," which this book describes; and its claim to be the work of Moses is established by the following passages:— II Chronicles 30:16; Nehemiah 8:14; Jeremiah 7:22-23; Ezekiel 20:11 Matthew 8:4; Luke 2:22; John 8:5; Romans 10:4; Romans 13:9; II Corinthians 6:16; Galatians 3:12; I Peter 1:16.
