Robertson's Word Pictures (NT)
Brought (eferon). Imperfect active of ferw, referring to their repeated charges.
Of such evil things as I supposed (wn egw upenooun ponhrwn). Incorporation of the antecedent ponhrwn into the relative clause and change of the case of the relative from the accusative a object of upenooun to the genitive like ponhrwn (Robertson, Grammar, p. 719). Note the imperfect active upenooun of uponoew to emphasize Festus's state of mind about Paul before the trial. This old verb only three times in the N.T. (here, Acts 13:25 which see; Acts 27:27).
Other Robertson's Word Pictures (NT) entries containing Acts 25:18:
Acts 25:10
Acts 25:16
1 Timothy 6:4
