Acts 26:7

5 They knew me from the first, if they were willing to testify, that according to ^athe strictest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.

6 ^aAnd now I stand and am judged for the hope of ^bthe promise made by God to our fathers.

7 To this promise ^aour twelve tribes, earnestly serving God ^bnight and day, ^chope to attain. For this hope’s sake, King Agrippa, I am accused by the Jews.

8 Why should it be thought incredible by you that God raises the dead?

9 ^a“Indeed, I myself thought I must do many things¹ contrary to the name of ^bJesus of Nazareth.

Our twelve tribes - For a great part of the ten tribes also had at various times returned from the east to their own country, James 1:1; I Peter 1:1. Worshipping continually night and day - That is, this is what they aim at in all their public and private worship.
