Acts 26:32

30 When he had said these things, the king stood up, as well as the governor and Bernice and those who sat with them;

31 and when they had gone aside, they talked among themselves, saying, ^a“This man is doing nothing deserving of death or chains.”

32 Then Agrippa said to Festus, “This man might have been set ^afree ^bif he had not appealed to Caesar.”

Acts 26:32 This man might have been set at liberty. His innocence was clear, but after the appeal to Caesar, the case belonged to the higher courts, and Festus had no more power to clear than to condemn. It was God's will that Paul should be carried to Rome. There was work for him to do in the capital of the world. See Acts 23:11.
