Romans 14:12
Compare all
10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For awe shall all stand before the judgment seat of1 Christ.
11 For it is written:
a“As I live, says the Lord,
Every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall confess to God.”
12 So then aeach of us shall give account of himself to God.
13 Therefore let us not judge one another1 anymore, but rather resolve this, anot to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way.

The Law of Love

14 I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus athat there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
15 Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. aDo not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died.

Romans 14:7-13

It is our responsibility to the church community to understand that we are answerable to God for how we act toward our brother even though we have the truth. We do not live to ourselves. Remember I said to you the Bible approaches things from the perspective that the community is greater and more important and has greater priority than the individual. The reason for that is that as an act of faith we see God as ruling over all. We are indeed answerable first to God, but we are not to be insensitive to our brother's feelings about things. Paul calls that judging and being contemptuous.
