Romans 15:2

Bearing Others’ Burdens

1 We athen who are strong ought to bear with the1 scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
2 aLet each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to1 edification.
3 aFor even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, b“The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.”
4 For awhatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the1 patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
5 aNow may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,
6 that you may awith one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 15:2

Let every one of us please his neighbor - For it should be a maxim with each of us to do all in our power to please our brethren; and especially in those things in which their spiritual edification is concerned. Though we should not indulge men in mere whims and caprices, yet we should bear with their ignorance and their weakness, knowing that others had much to bear with from us before we came to our present advanced state of religious knowledge.
