3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and¹ behaving like mere men?

4 For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal?

5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ^aministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one?

6 ^aI planted, ^bApollos watered, ^cbut God gave the increase.

7 So then ^aneither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, ^aand each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

9 For ^awe are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are ^bGod’s building.

I Corinthians 3:5-8

Actually, you are trying to divide us, one against the other—I am of Paul, I am of Apollos, I am of Cephas. He says, Look, Apollos and I are united, we are a united front, we are doing our work for the same exact reasons. Why are you doing this? Why are you trying to split us apart and make us jealous, one against the other?

They both understood this. As well as they worked, they would be rewarded. God would see to that.
