Articles, Bible studies, and sermons that contain 1 Corinthians 6:1:
I Corinthians 6:1-2
Excerpted from: Government (Part Seven)Now, think about this. Is he talking to the ministry? Or, is he talking to the whole congregation? I do not think that there is any indication that he is talking directly to the ministry. The ministry is included, because they are part of the congregation.
It is a question. He is calling them into account. They were doing the wrong thing. They were calling those to judge who were least able to do so. Now, what kind of justice, what kind of fairness, what kind of equity can there be in that kind of situation?
Disputes of this kind are to be brought to the church. And, I dare say that there will be a lot less problems (or, more problems being resolved between the people involved) if they know that they are eventually going to bring it before a whole group of people. It will get resolved, and settled, before that occurs.
I Corinthians 6:1-7
Excerpted from: Submitting (Part 2)Paul shows another step in what our attitude has to be between us and our brethren. This is a part of submitting to one another
The Christian's instructions are very clear. In a case involving brothers you had better be prepared to "lose," as an act of faith, out of respect for Christ. Christ is the Head of this church. By faith you know that He is going to judge the situation. Does Christ have enough wisdom to do that? Does Christ have enough power to carry out His judgments? Do we have enough faith to allow Him to do it?
I Corinthians 6:1-2
Excerpted from: The Second ResurrectionThis is what we are learning to become. To judge things, evaluate things, reach decisions according to the same patterns—according to the same process, at the same speed, with the same quality of mercy, with the same quality of understanding, with the same vision, with the same hope, same kindness, same generosity, same patience—as God does.
