Sacred things (ta iera).

Of the temple (tou ierou). Play on the same word ierou (sacred). See Numbers 18:8-20 for the details. This is a very pertinent illustration.

They which wait upon the altar (oi tw qusiasthriw paredreuontev). Old word paredreuw, to sit beside, from par—edrov, like Latin assidere, and so constant attendance. Only here in the N.T. Locative case qusiasthriw, late word found so far only in LXX, Philo, Josephus, N.T., and ecclesiastical writers. See on Matthew 5:23.
