Robertson's Word Pictures (NT)
Neither murmur ye (mhde gogguzete). Implying that some of them were murmuring. For this late picturesque onomatopoetic verb see on Matthew 20:11. The reference seems to be to Numbers 16:41 f. after the punishment of Korah.
By the destroyer (upo tou oloqreutou). This word, from oloqreuw (late verb from oleqrov, destruction) occurs only here, so far as known. The reference is to the destroying angel of Exodus 12:23 (o oloqreuwn).
Other Robertson's Word Pictures (NT) entries containing 1 Corinthians 10:10:
1 Corinthians 10:9
Jude 1:5
Jude 1:16
