American Standard Version
For a man indeed ought not to have his head veiled, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

Amplified® Bible
For a man ought not to wear anything on his head [in church], for he is the image and [reflected] glory of God [his function of government reflects the majesty of the divine Rule]; but woman is [the expression of] man's glory (majesty, preeminence).

Contemporary English Version
Men were created to be like God and to bring honor to God. This means that a man should not wear anything on his head. Women were created to bring honor to men.

Darby English Version
For man indeed ought not to have his head covered, being God's image and glory; but woman is man's glory.

Good News Bible
A man has no need to cover his head, because he reflects the image and glory of God. But woman reflects the glory of man;

International Standard Version
A man should not cover his own head, because he exists as God's image and glory. But the woman is man's glory.
