That more excellent way is the way of love, the way of giving, the way of outgoing concern for others, as the next chapter, chapter 13, explains. Nevertheless, godly love cannot be learned and applied without the knowledge and understanding of the true doctrine of the prophets, Jesus Christ, and the apostles.
