1 Corinthians 16:12

And it was not at all his will to come now (kai pantwv ouk hn qelhma ina nun elqh). Adversative use of kai = "but." Apollos had left Corinth in disgust over the strife there which involved him and Paul (I Corinthians 1:4). He had had enough of partisan strife over preachers.
