And in this confidence I was minded to come first unto you, that ye might have a second benefit;

It was with assurance of this that I wanted {and} planned to visit you first [of all], so that you might have a double favor {and} token of grace (goodwill).

I was so sure of your pride in us that I had planned to visit you first of all. In this way you would have the blessing of two visits from me.
