What Does 2 Corinthians 3:18 Mean?
The glory of the Lord is shown to us through the Word of God, which leads to our separation from the world. Connecting this with John 17, beholding the glory of the Lord accomplishes a creation taking place within Christians, transforming them into the image of Christ. This development moves from the glory of the secular, material man into the heavenly, spiritual Christ. God's purpose is for His people to be conformed to His image, being transformed from glory to glory—from the glory of man to the glory of God. Nowhere is this purpose more clearly stated than here.
