Forsaken (egkataleipomenoi). Double compound of old verb eg-kata-leipw, to leave behind, to leave in the lurch.

Smitten down (kataballomenoi). As if overtaken.

Destroyed (apollumenoi). Perishing as in verse II Corinthians 4:3. Was Paul referring to Lystra when the Jews stoned him and thought him dead?
