2 Corinthians 8:5
II Corinthians 8:5 And [this they did], not as we had hoped. The thought is that they exceeded our hope. They consecrated themselves, and hence, held that all they had was the Lord's. When church members give their own selves to the Lord, there will be no complaint that their money is withheld.
