The serpent beguiled Eve (o ofiv echpathsen euan). Paul's only mention of the serpent in Eden. The compound ecapataw means to deceive completely.
Lest by any means (mh pwv). Common conjunction after verbs of fearing.
Corrupted (fqarh). Second aorist passive subjunctive with mh pwv of fqeirw, to corrupt.
