Galatians 3:4

2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, ^aor by the hearing of faith?

3 Are you so foolish? ^aHaving begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by ^bthe flesh?

4 ^aHave you suffered so¹ many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?

5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—

6 just as Abraham ^a“believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

Galatians 3:4

Have ye suffered - Both from the zealous Jews and from the heathens. So many things - For adhering to the gospel. In vain - So as to lose all the blessings which ye might have obtained, by enduring to the end. If it be yet in vain - As if he had said, I hope better things, even that ye will endure to the end.
