American Standard Version
which is an earnest of our inheritance, unto the redemption of `God's' own possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Amplified® Bible
That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption {and} our acquiring [complete] possession of it--to the praise of His glory.

Contemporary English Version
The Spirit also makes us sure that we will be given what God has stored up for his people. Then we will be set free, and God will be honored and praised.

Darby English Version
who is [the] earnest of our inheritance to the redemption of the acquired possession to [the] praise of his glory.

Good News Bible
The Spirit is the guarantee that we shall receive what God has promised his people, and this assures us that God will give complete freedom to those who are his. Let us praise his glory!
