that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, that waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit;

Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts {and} desires that spring from delusion;

You were told that your foolish desires will destroy you and that you must give up your old way of life with all its bad habits.

[namely] your having put off according to the former conversation the old man which corrupts itself according to the deceitful lusts;

So get rid of your old self, which made you live as you used to---the old self that was being destroyed by its deceitful desires.
