American Standard Version
But if to live in the flesh, --`if' this shall bring fruit from my work, then what I shall choose I know not.

Amplified® Bible
If, however, it is to be life in the flesh {and} I am to live on here, that means fruitful service for me; so I can say nothing as to my personal preference [I cannot choose],

Contemporary English Version
I don't know what to choose. I could keep on living and doing something useful.
